ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Hilary!

I'm a person-centered psychotherapist who believes that every individual is an expert in his/her/their own life.

 

Through the approaches of Solution-Focused Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, I assist individuals in setting goals and finding solutions while challenging unproductive thoughts, managing emotions, and changing behaviors that no longer serve them. I support and help people uncover and use their own strengths (and maybe even learn some new ones) to grow, overcome obstacles, and become the best versions of themselves. I’m passionate about validating individuals’ unique experiences while empowering them to find meaning/purpose in all areas of their lives.

I have experience working with individuals of all ages and their families in overcoming stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, low self-esteem, relationship issues, stage of life issues, difficult life transitions, behavioral issues, and parenting difficulties.

In my free time, you might find me cuddling my dog Emma, eating some sort of chocolate dessert, reading, traveling, enjoying the outdoors, or going for a run. Exercise is definitely one of my coping methods, and I've completed several half marathons after setting a personal goal while in graduate school. A lifelong Florida resident (born and raised in Miami), I recently relocated to the Upstate of South Carolina! I'm still licensed and practicing in Florida (and Colorado and South Carolina).
